What can Microsoft Exchange Server do?
As a developer I am always looking for new ways to improve the performance of my web services. Recently I read about a new technology that is gaining popularity in the world of Exchange. It is called Microsoft Exchange Server (MES). It is a web-based application that allows you to develop and customize email, contacts, calendars and much more using the Exchange interface.
Microsoft Exchange Server consists of five key components:
Microsoft Exchange Server Core, Microsoft Exchange Server administrator, Microsoft Exchange Manager, Microsoft Information Protect Environment (IME) Key Management Server, and Microsoft Intune. Glenwood Software developed Microsoft Exchange Server and is now owned by Microsoft. Bowes IT Solutions developed Managed Service Provider for Microsoft Exchange Server. Glenwood Software developed Microsoft Exchange Server (MES) and is now owned by Microsoft. Microsoft Exchange is the centerpiece of Microsoft’s mail delivery service known as Microsoft Exchange. Microsoft SharePoint developed as a platform for managing content and documents in an organization’s intranet system.
Microsoft Exchange Server consists of four databases:
Microsoft Exchange Database Online, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Information Protect Environment (IMP) Online. The databases store the users’ log files and other information. Microsoft SharePoint is a framework that allows distributed applications to connect to SharePoint libraries and run in a web browser. Microsoft Exchange Server consists of applications and features that are designed to store, manage, send, and receive information and content from Microsoft Exchange Server database servers. Microsoft SharePoint helps you build integrated communication solutions between people, groups, teams, and various organizations.
Microsoft Exchange Server also includes Microsoft Information Protect Environment (IMP) Online. This component integrates enterprise-level identity and password protection feature with the user mailbox and Microsoft Sharepoint (SSI) online application services. This is a part of Microsoft Exchange Server 2021 that works on Windows domain architecture. Microsoft Sharepoint Online is a web based application that helps you develop rich internet applications. Microsoft Sharepoint Services has several database, social networking, and business intelligence tools.
Microsoft Exchange Server also comes with several standard features such as the public folder backup, auto archiving, offline folder access, mailbox filtering and restoration, Replicate Changes, and the Enterprise Search. There are many other enhancements and features available in the product such as permission systems, email alerts, workflow controls, recovery and integrity manager, role-based access control, versioning services, search engine visibility, task management, workflow organization, versioning workflow services, versioning history, and many more. One important feature is Microsoft Exchange Server 365 that makes it even more convenient for the businesses to manage their email, contacts, and tasks from any location. This is a virtual private server role that helps the companies to save money and time on managing and supporting their business on the internet. This is a great choice for people who want to connect to the Exchange server through the web interface and perform various tasks.
Another great thing about the Microsoft Exchange Server is its load balancing capability that helps you make sure that your website never experiences a low load. The load Balancing service is provided by the Microsoft Load Balancing technology that helps you to reduce the overall system resource consumption, which ultimately improves the productivity and speed of your servers. It also makes sure that the emails and attachments are delivered to the customers in a timely manner. Microsoft Sharepoint Online provides you various business intelligence tools that can help you understand the needs of the business segment and suggest some changes to boost the profits. The main goal of Microsoft Sharepoint is to provide IT departments with a central data repository to share information and collaborate effectively.
With Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Sharepoint, you can build up a virtual data center consisting of multiple, replicating servers and network devices that can provide you with a high availability and redundancy for your business. There are two ways to deploy these services: either in on-premises or off-premises settings. While on-premises deployment of these services involves setting up the servers on your own network, which would require more server hardware, Microsoft Sharepoint deployment process requires only one installation procedure, a deployment template and an update rollup. In addition, the process of setting up databases and the application containers can be performed by an IT administrator in a single day.
- Apart from these capabilities, there are many other tools and features that you can take advantage of to ensure that your business is running smoothly.
- You can use Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SharePoint to increase your company’s network performance by creating the various DAGs or data centers.
- DAGs are basically configuration groups that help you create redundancy and failover in the network.
- There are many advantages of using these services such as; high availability, database availability groups, data center management, virtual network service and many more.
